The OWCP Committee has developed a Guide for Fac Reps to use to assist members who have sustained a work related injury, or incurred an occupational disease or illness, in completing all the appropriate paperwork.
Obviously due to the complex nature of an OWCP claim, this guide cannot be all-inclusive, but in representing your bargaining unit, each facility representative should obtain the suggested information as contained in appendix 1 of this guide.
That information, in conjunction with this guide, should help you understand what is required when filing an OWCP claim; and help you to ensure that the rights of the bargaining unit member are protected.
